Dolisa brings 35 years of teaching experience to her lifelong dream. With a Master’s Degree in Education, she understands the importance of creativity and art in a child’s development. As a teacher in Reno schools, she recognizes the need for improved educational resources in Northern Nevada. Her passion for art is so strong that she started her art program in her backyard! The Alley Art Studio brings art, creativity, and wonder into the lives of children. We inspire and teach with the belief that every child is an artist.
Teaching art to children is right up our alley! We recognize the need for art integration in every child’s learning and development. The Alley curriculum includes master-inspired, cultural, fundamental, and all other elements of art. We explore painting,
chalk & oil pastels, decoupage, sculpture, printing, collage, mosaic, bead, and
textile art. The list continues to grow.
Our teaching style is “fun within structure, with educational classes including storytelling, music, and conversation. We recognize that learning differences can take each artist down their own path of discovery during the process. Students leave The Alley Art Studio with a feeling of mastery, confidence, and pride in their abilities and completed masterpieces, as we encourage all to work to their potential, finish what they started, and step out of their comfort zone.
The Alley provides an ideal atmosphere that is entertaining, visually appealing, inspiring and “unplugged”. Your child’s imagination and creativity will further develop and increase as they explore, create, discover, and play.
